Peter und Liesi Löcker

Salzburg

On the 8-hectare arable farm, the Löcker family grows cereals, in particular Lungau Tauern rye, and breeds black-spotted Alpine pigs.

Commitment to biodiversity:

Peter Löcker is actively committed to an insect-friendly region, insect-friendly mowing on the farm and a ‘poison-free’ Lungau. On their farmland, the Löcker family makes sure there are enough field weeds for biodiversity and a windbreak has also been created. Soil-conserving cultivation is also very important to the Löcker family, which is why they bought a new plough last year, which enables them to have a ready-made seedbed with just one pass. In addition to seed processing and marketing the Lungau Tauern rye, the farm also processes flower meadow seed - in cooperation with the state of Salzburg. The seed is used for site-appropriate revegetation.
