Stefan Weissl

Salzburg

Stefan Weissl runs a 105-hectare conventional dairy farm. The farm areas are mainly grassland, as well as forest and a small arable area.

Commitment to biodiversity:

Stefan Weissl has planted a flower meadow, mows embankments no more than twice a year and leaves the vegetation in areas that are difficult to manage, e.g. around masts or at corners. This not only saves labour, but also creates refuges for insects and birds. Fruit trees are planted on the farm and hedges are planted to give nature additional space.
