Eva Glatzer

Lower Austria

Eva Glatzer cultivates vegetables on 1.2 hectares using permaculture principles with ridge beds.

Commitment to biodiversity:

In 2020, Eva Glatzer transformed a field that was once used intensively for growing cereals into a paradise for bees and butterflies. Benjes hedges, mixed orchards and ‘wild corners’ create space for biodiversity. She cultivates vegetables, herbs and fruit without the use of synthetic pesticides. Vegetables are produced using a self-sufficient energy supply and sold ‘from the field’. Imparting knowledge is very important to Eva Glatzer, and the local kindergarten and primary school are regular visitors to discover the diversity.
