Hans-Georg Schattbacher

Hans-Georg Schattbacher attaches great importance to working his organic farm in harmony with nature. He only mows his land twice, does not use silage and weed control is purely mechanical. He runs a pure grazing farm, the cows can forage for themselves on the short grass pasture and only come into the barn for milking. Some of his areas are nature conservation areas that Hans-Georg Schattbacher only mows once in autumn, which benefits plant species such as the orchid, sundew and willowherb. Bird species such as the whinchat also benefit from this gentle form of cultivation.
