Stefan Knöpfer
Stefan Knöpfer attaches great importance to preserving old breeds on his farm, such as the Stoapiperl - an old Austrian breed of dwarf chicken - or the Bulgarian screw horn goat. Goats are generally an important main pillar of his farm, as grazing by means of herding and rotational grazing is a key concern for him. He keeps grazing animals on his farm and, as chairman of the Hirtenkultur association, is actively committed to ensuring that farmers' grassland areas and grazing by him or other grazing professionals come together. In this way, he makes a significant contribution to the preservation of important habitat structures in grassland and secures habitats for animal species that have now become rare, such as gophers and hamsters.
