Stefan Nöbauer

Upper Austria

Together with his partner, Stefan Nöbauer runs an organic arable farm with 40 hectares of arable land and 5 hectares of grassland.

Commitment to biodiversity:

From an early age, Stefan Nöbauer had a great enthusiasm for nature and farming, as well as a great passion for animals. Becoming a farmer was always on his career wish list. 100 ewes, horses and donkeys live on his farm. In his own self-service shop, he sells various regional products such as pasta, eggs and fruit, as well as lamb that he produces himself. Stefan mows all forage areas exclusively with an insect-friendly bar mower, which is reflected in the great diversity of grasshoppers on his meadows. To increase biodiversity and structural diversity, there are many different landscape elements on the farm, such as fruit trees and orchards, hay meadows, hedges and shrubs. In addition, 3 hectares of biodiversity areas with flowering mixtures have been created in conjunction with nature conservation areas.
