Brigitte Dörner
As Salzburg's first organic flower farmer, she oversees the entire process. From seed to seedling cultivation to the finished flower arrangement, Brigitte knows every step and places particular emphasis on biodiversity. Even as a child, Brigitte wanted to name every herb. After graduating from high school, she worked in the fruit and vegetable industry for almost 15 years before completing her studies in agricultural and environmental education. In 2018, she moved with her family to her husband Marcus's farm and turned her passion into her profession. For Brigitte, everything revolves around the diversity of flowers – sustainably cultivated and in harmony with the seasons. In addition to flower cultivation, Brigitte and Marcus, who is also a tree warden and beekeeper, maintain orchards and produce organic hay. Ducks, ponies, and cats contribute to the ecological balance on the farm, and beehives are located in the adjacent forest. A biotope, piles of deadwood and stones also provide valuable habitat.
Brigitte shares her knowledge in workshops and guided tours, advocates for sustainable flower cultivation, and is involved in the Slow Flower movement., https://www.slowflower-bewegung.de/ and the self-initiated initiative https://www.blumenrevolution.com/
