Johann Schauer and his partner run an 80-hectare organic cattle fattening farm with pasture grazing, nature reserves, and wildflower meadows. They also cultivate food grains and alternative crops on their arable land, which are then processed into bread in their own bakery.

Commitment to biodiversity:

Johann Schauer makes sure that, in addition to the cultivated meadows and fields, there is also ample space for nature on his farm. A pond has been created, hedges and trees planted, and wildflower meadows sown. These efforts are already showing results: Johann Schauer now observes significantly more insects and pollinators in his meadows. The organic farmer is also committed to promoting biodiversity in his community. As a member of the local council, he has successfully campaigned for the town to become a bee-friendly community. He is working to ensure that there are more wildflower meadows in and around the town. He has also sown regional wildflower seeds on public land and planted native shrubs with schoolchildren. Creating diverse habitats and raising awareness of the importance of a healthy environment are not only important to him.
