Online Kitchentable Talk 13. 1. 2024
13. January, 7:30 pm (Ireland) / 8:30 pm (Austria):
No-till farming in times of climate change
With arable farmers Andrew Bergin from Ireland and Johannes Zauner from Austria.
Both Andrew Bergin and Johannes Zauner carry out no tillage on their arable land. This means, for example, that after harvest the soil is not ploughed and harrowed, but the next crop is sown directly into the crop residue. In the event the two farmers reported on their experiences with the no-till method. Together with the participants, we addressed the question of what advantages this method of management brings in times of climate change and what effects it has on biodiversity.
The Kitchentable Talk was held in two languages (English and German) with simultaneous translation.
